Introduction of the book

Praise be to God who sent His Messenger with the true religion and set him above all others; praise be to God who has made him a witness who announces good news and warns against chastisement, a Prophet who, with God's permission, calls for the Truth; Praise be to God who made him a light, a beacon, an example to follow for anyone who places his hope in God and on the Day of Judgment and invokes his Lord abundantly.

Lord, pour out your blessings and peace on the Prophet Muhammad ( as ) , on his family, his companions and on all those who will follow them in good, until the Day of Judgment. May they drink from Your Mercy and receive Your satisfaction.

Following the congress on the life of the Prophet held in Pakistan in the month of Râbî Al-Awwal of the year 1396 of the Hegira, the Islamic World League announced the organization of an international competition around the biography of the Prophet ( psl ) , a competition intended to stimulate writers and coordinate their efforts.

I consider the organization of such a competition to be of considerable value, because the life of the Prophet ( as ) is the main source of inspiration for the Islamic world and, more broadly, the example to be followed in establishing a just and happy.

I had the happiness and the chance to present the results of my research to this blessed competition.

Only who am I to pretend to enlighten the life of Muhammad ( pbuh ) , the best and the most excellent of men?

I am only a man who finds his happiness in the light that the last Prophet ( as ) brought, thus escaping the perils of darkness, a man who wishes to remain in the community of Muhammad ( as ) and die faithful to his message, a man who hopes that God will forgive his sins through the intercession of His Messenger ( as ) .

When I decided to write a book on the biography of the Prophet ( pbuh ), I wanted it not to be too long, to avoid boring the reader.

In studying the life of the Prophet Muhammad ( as ) I have found considerable discrepancies in the chronology of events, or in the details connected with them. So I carried out thorough checks and pushed my research as far as possible . Then, I recorded in this book what seemed to me the most plausible at the end of my checks.

I have not demonstrated each point, because that would have unnecessarily weighed down this work. I have only given additional details when the reader might be left unsatisfied, or where I have found that most writers maintain untruths .

O Lord, decree for me the obtaining of good here and in the Hereafter . Surely you are the Absoluter , the Clement, the Holder of the glorious Throne.
