The position of women in the family is an essential function in society. The development of social awareness and cooperation between the two spouses based on trust are two essential factors for coordinating the main function of the woman.
Islam has defined a position of honor for women, the considerable responsibilities it has entrusted to them at home and outside, and the active and positive role it has assigned to them in the life of society. .
The distribution of responsibilities between the spouses is accompanied by mutual cooperation enabling them to best discharge these responsibilities.
Both spouses have similar rights: “Women have rights equivalent to their duties, and in accordance with custom. Men are a step above them. >> This "degree" signifies a degree of preeminence, or the merit for man of renouncing a part of his rights.
These rights include love, gentleness and benevolence, adornment and sexual enjoyment, and participation in the occupations and problems of others.
The role of women in the family is an essential function, even if that does not prevent them from having other functions in society.
