The tales of a thousand and one myths – Volume II

In the 6th-7th century, the minds of certain men were catalyzed: the scholars [Scientists]. They were as if guided by Providence. The creation of sciences and techniques as tools for discovering the secrets of Creation had a noble objective in their eyes. Tame the laws of nature in order to put them at the service of human civilization. Thus, by this conviction, a way of life, a society will be characterized as a certainty in accordance with the logic that the intellect discovers. Consequently, by the Sciences thus created, intelligence and reason establish that the origin of the world is the resultant of a superior Being.

The 6th-7th centuries is a decisive phase in the evolution of human civilization which forever marked the genesis of science and technology and which definitively annihilated mythology, superstition, legend, magic and the cult of heroes.

Universal scholars invented and developed at a high level scientific disciplines and methods, that is to say observation and experimentation, in order to achieve discoveries that profoundly changed mentalities and human societies. Thus, the Universe and matter appear oh so subtle and complex!

From now on, Man has entered a new era, that of the modern era.

The mentality and the culture of the Christian societies accepted very painfully that the Universe is a reality governed by laws. Ten centuries were necessary for the assimilation of sciences and techniques bequeathed to them by Muslim scholars.

Have the latter been blessed with these legacies by the Christian West? Alas, exchanges for posterity were for some the acquisition of a scientific cultural heritage, a social development and an ever-growing hegemony; for the others, a succession of tyrants, obscurantist Guardians of Tradition; for the others, a mass brutalization, the suppression of high human values and the dramatic dilution of the faith which engendered their ruin
