Why is France, which has all the legal and institutional capacities, all the necessary human resources, delaying in implementing French-style, competitive and dynamic Islamic finance, which would be a formidable driving force for our financial industry?
Why are France and its financial industry nearly ten years behind the development of Islamic finance in England? Why is France, which has all the legal and institutional capacities, all the necessary human resources, delaying in implementing a French-style, competitive and dynamic Islamic finance, which would be a formidable driving force for our financial industry and for our entire economy? Why do persistent paradoxes prevent us from thinking, in France, of Islamic finance as a national opportunity more than as a threat? Why does the French financial and banking system still not offer Muslims in France, who constitute the largest Islamic community in the Western world, access to a range of alternative products and services in tune with their religious sensibilities, who would also be likely to provide all French people with a dynamic and ethical response to their financial, credit and investment problems? The challenge of this book is - of course - to answer these questions, but also - and above all - to launch the dynamics of this French-style Islamic finance which will allow the financial inclusion of all French people - individuals and entrepreneurs - who seek a more ethical alternative, more united, more directly oriented towards sustainable development.
