Greed and the love of money ( Remedies and middle ground advocated by Islam , by Imam Al-Ghazâlî , Collection Revivification of Good Practices of the Muslim Religion , Translation of the book: " Kitâb dhamm l-bukhl wa dhamm hubbi-l-mâl (كتاب ذم البخل و حب المال)
This book by Imam al- Ghazali is dedicated to blaming avarice, the love of money and material goods. This is a very important subject, these are serious, widespread and dangerous character diseases. They obstruct the way of Salvation.
The Imam reminds us of the teachings of God and his Messenger on this matter. The love of money is born from the fear of running out of it and this is one of the greatest deceptions available to Satan to lead us astray: “The devil threatens you with poverty and commands you turpitude. (Qur'an 2,268).
Many things in this world can, indeed, be the source of difficulties, big or small. Religious science allows us to put each concern in its proper place and thus, to free ourselves, by the grace of God, from excessive fears and anxieties. Ultimately, only the invocation of God appeases hearts. (Quran 13.28)
