Islam being a universal religion, it is incumbent on Muslims to spread it to all of humanity in all languages. It is precisely within this framework that the translation of Sahih Muslim, or the collection of authentic hadiths of the Prophet, compiled by Imam Muslim Ibn Al-Hajjaj, fits. This translation is also a means of strengthening religious knowledge for French-speaking Muslims.

The scholars unanimously agree on the notoriety and authority as well as on the very high competence of Muslim in this art. One of the most obvious proofs of his authority, his meticulousness and his mastery of the sciences of the hadith is indeed his authentic collection which has no equal as regards the thematic order of its parts and chapters, its precise mention of the channels of transmission of the hadith, its precaution to carefully underline the discrepancies between the transmitters at the level of the text (matn) or the series of transmitters (isnad) even if it is a single letter.

The scholars unanimously agree that the most authentic books, enjoying the greatest authority, after the Holy Qur'an, are the two collections of the Hadith of Al-Bukhari and Muslim. Hence the interest of this summary, deduced from our full translation into French of the text of the great collection.
