About the Authors: Dr. Ekram and Dr. Mohamed Rida Beshir
Dr. Ekram Beshir is a doctor by profession with a specialization in child psychology. She founded the Abraar and Rahma Islamic schools and served as their director; both are in Ottawa, Canada. Among 7,000 board employees, she was selected as the recipient of the Ottawa-Carleton Area School Board Principal's Citation for Honors of the Year 2000 for her contribution to education. She is very active in the Muslim community of Ottawa where she participates in study circles, camps for children and teenagers, women's programs and marital counselling . She has traveled extensively to different countries around the world presenting parenting workshops. She has also written other books on teaching Arabic to Muslim children living in non-Arabic speaking countries.
Dr. Mohamed Rida Beshir is an engineer by profession with over 30 years of experience in da'wa (invitation to Islam) related work in North America. He has held various positions in the MSA ( Muslim Students Association) , ISNA ( Islamic Society of North America ) and MAS ( Muslim American Society ) , both nationally and regionally. He is a member of the department that deals with the training and development of the MAS . He lectures regularly at the ISNA , ICNA ( Islamic Circle of North America ) , MSA and MAS congresses. He actively develops and directs training programs for the various Muslim communities around the world.
