The Life of Muhammad Prophet of Allah, by Etienne Dinet and Ben Ibrahim
Étienne Dinet wrote in 1918 a biography of the life of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) at the request of the Ministry of the Armed Forces, in tribute "in memory of the Muslims who died for France during the Great War". To carry it out, with his friend Sliman Ben Ibrahim, they relied essentially on Islamic sources and not on the work of Islamologists. Their methodology drew strong reactions from them. Orientalists, to which they responded in a second work entitled L'Orient vu de l'Occident.
The Life of Muhammad, Prophet of Allah was published in 1918 by Editions Piazza. Subsequently, Maisonneuve editions republished it by deleting the introduction, the conclusion and chapter 10 in which our two authors, in addition to refuting many prejudices about Islam and Muslims, evoked the future of Islam .
In order to contribute to reviving the heritage of Islam and the efforts of French-speaking Muslims, we are happy to republish the life of Muhammad (saw) in its integral version.
