Muslims in Secularism: Responsibilities and Rights of Muslims in Western Societies, by Tariq Ramadan
This book seeks to define the terms of a positive coexistence, of an authentic integration of intimacies. The author calls on Muslims to face up to their responsibilities, to know their interlocutors better, to say who they are, to join forces and to have a more active participation in the societies in which they live. Only this commitment will allow them to be heard when they ask that we respect their identity, their faith, their practice. Islam calls practitioners to be Muslims and not just to debate. Then faith, nourishing the hearts, will be able to give birth to this wisdom which we need so much to live, to live together.
