French-Arabic and Arabic-French dictionary: Useful words of everyday life, by Jean-Jacques Schmidt

This work is the complement of our Vocabulary of Modern Arabic, which constitutes, we hope it, a useful element in particular for the reading of the Arab press.

Our objective here is to make available to the widest possible public a dictionary designed as having to be first and foremost an extension, in terms of vocabulary, of our method Arabic without pain (Ed. Assimil), based essentially on the use of terms encountered in everyday life.

These terms, we will find them here added to many others which, all, seem to us essential to tourists, businessmen, students, cooperators or simply curious to learn the Arabic language.

The purpose of this book is to bring together a large number of "useful words of everyday life" without claiming to be exhaustive in the least.

Our concern has been to provide, in the simplest and most accessible form to all, an instrument of human contact capable of favoring an approach between the French-speaking world and the Arab world and of breaking down the linguistic barrier which separates them.
