On the French scene, the veil is above all referred to its religious and political dimension, concealing the diversity of its dimensions and the importance of considering it from another perspective, that of considering the interaction it generates with the elements of the society in which it is expressed. The way in which the French public space receives the veil, the interpretation that is made of it and the dimensions that are exacerbated during the debates reveal a social crisis, a crisis of values and an ideological conflict probably deeper than we think. think. A social fact cannot be thought of in isolation. This is why we are going to try to replace the veil in an anthropological context which accounts for its multiple occurrences and its interpretations, and makes it possible to understand the way in which it was constructed, deconstructed, reconstructed, according to history and of its contexts.
