Journey through the challenges of Muslim women, by Huda Khattab

Original title in Arabic: مسائل تهم المرأة في الإسلام

Journey through the Challenges of Muslim Women is the author's findings on a number of issues that surround Muslim women, particularly those used by those who wish to hold Islam. These topics will be of interest to all Muslim women. This book addresses various controversial areas such as domestic violence, excision, polygamy and failure in the education of young girls. It also highlights the stark contrast between Islamic teachings and current cultural practices.

In a hadith, the Prophet ( saw ) describes the woman as being "a curved rib", this in no way reflects a desire to devalue women. On the contrary, this expression aims to exhort men not to try to correct or " straighten "women by force but rather to accept them as they were created by Allah. This hadith also invites men to follow the example of our beloved Prophet (saw) in his behavior towards women, a behavior based on respect and compassion.

The problem is not Islam, but the non-Islamic practices that prevail in many communities. This is a situation that needs to be approached with great honesty .
