About the author: Faouzi Skali
Faouzi Skali, a teacher at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Fez in Morocco, comes from a family of sharifs (descendants of the Prophet) and a member of a Sufi tariqa (brotherhood). He is the director of the Fés Festival of Sacred Music of the World.
