Violence: Sources and Benchmarks...What Islam Says, by Mohamed Meslem

The purpose of religion is to establish peace, social harmony and human well-being. Islam is part of this mission and works for the common good of all to safeguard human dignity by considering that all humans are brothers and sisters, they all come from Adam and Eve.

Of cultural, neurotic or pathological origin, violence in all its aspects and forms is motivated by ignorance, fear, hatred and the spirit of revenge. It is a universal phenomenon with cultural interpretations, it is, at the same time, a cause and a consequence. It is a harbinger of a latent tendency towards the destructive act. Violence, aggressiveness, aggression, fundamentalism, extremism, terrorism, what relationships? Jihad, Jihadists, what amalgams? To eradicate violence with violence would be a great failure, to cure evil with evil can only produce more evil. Wisdom and reason are the panacea for the deradicalization of violence without violence. Prevention and resolution of violence: What steps?
