20 Tips for Patience in the Face of the Evil of People (الأسباب المعينة على الصبر على أذى الخلق ), by Ibn Taymiyya, Commentary Abd Ar-Razzâq Al-Badr , Bilingual (French-A rabe)

The theme that we are going to address, in commenting on it, relates to a passage from an epistle written by Sheikh ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyya - may Allah have mercy on him - in which he speaks of patience. In it he dealt thoroughly and very helpfully with the things that can help a person to be patient in the face of the evil of others. He mentions details that are hardly found in other writings. May Allah have mercy on this imam. And what an imam he was! What a pleasant exhortation and what a beautiful argument! May Allah reward him amply for all that he has accomplished and provided as an effort; may Allah lodge him in the upper Firdaws; He is, indeed - Blessed and Exalted be He - the Hearer , the Near and the One who hears.

I implore Allah, The Generous, who returned to us from this commentary of the words of Shaykh ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah-may Allah have mercy on him relating to things that help to be patient in the face of the evil of others, so that he may it also be a help for all of us to acquire this patience, and that he may make us part of his enduring and grateful servants. For religion is made up of two parts: Endurance and Gratitude. That is why it is said: Patience is half of religion.
