Understanding them to better orient them, by Dr 'Abd al-Karîm Bakkâr
Adolescence is an important stage in the life of an individual and in the constitution of his personality. The young boy and the young girl are no longer children but are adults in the making. They are however responsible, from all points of view and in particular from the religious point of view, for their acts and their shortcomings. Parents also have their share of responsibility for their adolescent children, since they are supposed to educate them and turn them into adults who assume and ensure their role as responsible and honest Muslims. But to best guide our teenagers, we need to understand them, support them during this difficult period and react with tact and wisdom to their problems, their questions, their crises, etc.
