If I should speak… , Translation of the Novel " If I should speak " by Umm Zakiyyah

In this translation of the famous novel If I should speak , the author promises to revolutionize the view of non-Muslim readers on Islam through this touching story of three young American students. One Christian and the other two Muslims, who find themselves despite themselves sharing the same apartment on the campus of a small private American university.

Tamika is a second year student who dreams of becoming a singer. After a violent argument with her roommate, she is forced to move and finds herself sharing an apartment with Amina, a strict Muslim whose faith is sincere and deep, and Dee, another Muslim student, much more liberal and more attracted to the pleasures of this world than by his religious obligations. The latter will take advantage of the illusory freedoms offered by university life to gradually abandon Islam. Sharing the same dream, Tamika and Dee will grow closer, leaving Amina the only spectator of her friend's estrangement from Islam.

Umm Zakiyyah presents, throughout this moving account, a list of specific information on Islam, which readers, whether Muslim or not, will find useful. Some as reminders of the correctness and rectitude of their religion, and others as a new look at the erroneous information received from the media and critics of Islam. This book, full of hope, lessons, questions and answers, will allow the reader to move forward towards a new vision of life, this life on earth, ephemeral and precious , the only test that God has given us to prepare ourselves to eternity.
