Abû Hâmid Muhammad al-Ghazâlî (450/1058 - 505/1111) from Eastern Iran is considered one of the greatest theologians and spirituals of Islam. His work is immense (more than 300 titles listed) of which the work of 1500 pages a quarto entitled "the vivification of the sciences of religion" is the most important and the most famous.
