After his work entitled "An approach to the Koran through grammar and lexicon" published by Editions Albouraq in 2002, Maurice Gloton presents an "Essay on the translation of the Koran" accompanied by an important introduction, numerous annotations and an index. detailed topic.

This translation essay wanted to stay close to the etymology of the Koranic terms and the style of the Revelation by God to the Prophet Muhammad, while using an evocative vocabulary, and respecting the verbal and nominal sentences as they appear in the Text.

This "Essay" required years of work and meditation from the translator, who relied on numerous readings by Muslim authors as well as commentators on the Koran. Maurice Gloton

Maurice Gloton was born in Paris in 1926 and is the father of a large family. After graduate studies in business management and his conversion to Islam in 1950 and, in parallel with an active life in various companies as a senior executive, he deepened his knowledge of the Arabic language, traveled in the land of Islam and the Pilgrimage to the Holy Places. For several decades, he has devoted himself to making Islamic spirituality known, notably through translations of works by great figures of Sufism's holiness and theologians and through conferences and television broadcasts.
