I am not saying that 'alif-lâm-mîm is a letter, but that 'alif is a letter, 'lam is a letter and 'mim is a letter. So increase your Quran recitation. »

Thus a reward is provided in the hereafter for each of the letters pronounced during the recitation of the Koran. Like every act of worship, the recitation of the Qur'an also hides a special wisdom that manifests itself in a calming of the mind of the reader.
