The noble companions of the Prophet Muhammad - PBUH - are among the men and women those whom God chose and raised to make the best human beings. By guiding them to faith and belief in His Messenger Muhammad, Allah the Exalted fulfilled them. Then the prophet - PBUH - educated them and trained them in the school of prophecy. They fought together in the path of God after the divine light penetrated their hearts, and the Quran shapes their behaviors. They finally became pious guides, soldiers and leaders of victory. Therefore, only their respective qualities, their great deeds, their proximity to the prophet of God, their precedence and promptness in responding to the call could distinguish them.

This book, the first volume in a long series, pays tribute to these great men who were the companions of the Prophet Mohammed -PBUH-. The author, Professor Al-Batal, is an eminent specialist in the figure of companions in Islam and teaches at the Faculty of Letters at Malik Ibn 'Abdalaziz University in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). Each of the stories he composed gives us a closer look at the life, personality and stature of the illustrated companion. How did he embrace Islam? What was his relationship to the prophet -PSL- and his teaching? What repercussions did it have in his existence, his daily life, at home, while traveling, his commitment, his struggles and his hopes? Returning to the source of companions, eating there and finding our inspirations and models to follow for tomorrow, seems more essential to us today than ever. Spending time in their company will brighten and enrich our days which occupy too much trivia and useless verbiage.
