This book is made up of a series of texts and articles that address fundamental questions for contemporary Muslim consciousness. Reflections on the "Muslim discourse", terminology, understanding of religious issues are supplemented by analyzes of social, philosophical, economic or political issues.

The reader, throughout the pages, will find critical developments on "integration", women, the shari'a as well as on humanism, ecology, culture and the arts. These pages also contain the famous "Manifesto for a new Us" as well as the text of the "International call for a moratorium on the death penalty, corporal punishment and stoning", followed by critical exchanges with the 'ulamas (scholars ) of the whole world.

Texts, criticisms and stimulants, never very long, which make it possible to lay the groundwork for a vision to be developed, a path to be taken and a commitment to be determined: it is, in fact, for Muslims to become once again the subjects, free and autonomous, of their history.
