Islam constitutes for humanity the answer to a fundamental need, and even one could say today, to a vital necessity.

This is how the idea of the competition “This is Islam” was born. It was opened to all universities in the Muslim world. And it was Doctor Muhammad ibn Ibrâhîm Al-Hamad who won first place and received the unanimous approval of the various juries. His work has been distinguished by its breadth and completeness, by the quality of its presentation and the ensuing discussion, by its scientific rigor and finally by the intelligent marriage of tradition and modernity that it offers there.
The result is therefore this beautiful jewel which, we hope, will make Islam better known and will greatly help preachers in their task.

This presentation has been designed so that it can be taught in the “Islamic Culture” course, so it can help students to fill in certain gaps in this area. It is presented in a pleasant and original way.

The author relied on original sources whether ancient or modern, and he adopted a neutral style that takes into account the differences in mentality between Muslims and non-Muslims. It aims neither at self-justification nor at provocation, in order to allow the reader to get a fair idea of the reality of Islam.
