Sincerity and its effect on the unity of Muslims

Of the emeritus and great scholar Dr Sâlih ibn Fawzân Al-Fawzân

النصيحة وأثرها على وحدة الكلمة بين المسلمين

Authentic belief is also part of what unifies speech, i.e. the belief of Monotheism which is the unification of Allah, exalted be He, in worship, as the Most High said :

{إِنَّ هَذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَا عْبُدُونِ}

{Certainly, this community of yours is a unique community, and I am your Lord. Therefore worship Me.} (Quran: Al-Anbiyâ, 92).

We have only one Lord and one deity. If we unite Him, exalted be He, in worship, we will achieve agreement and concord among Muslims. However, if the belief differs, there will be neither agreement nor union, each having its own way and its own organization. The Most High said:

{كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ}

"...every party exulting in what it held" (Qurân: Ar-Rûm, 32)

Each seeking to make his belief and his opinion triumph. Nothing can unite Muslims except the belief of Monotheism with which the Messenger of Allah came (ﷺ
