The Exegesis of the Forty Divine Hadiths , by Abderazzak Mahri, original title in Arabic: شرح الأربعين القدسية
The divine hadith or Qudsi is the hadith that the Prophet ( Saws ) yields from the Lord irresistible power by giving proper expression to meaning revealed or inspired to him in wakefulness or sleep. In doing so, he sets it apart from the Koran, which is characterized by its own wording which comes from God Himself.
The hadîth Qudsi focuses on the edification, reform and education of the human soul. Not dealing with legal rules and worship prescriptions, as the prophetic hadith does, it leads the soul to observe acts of obedience and recommended works, invites it to goodness, virtue and good character, orients her towards the love of God, the aspiration for His satisfaction, the desire for paradise, and warns her against disobedience, blameworthy acts, and Hell.
This work proposes to expose the best known and the most authentic among the divine hadîth and to give the explanation drawn from the most known and most affirmed Islamic references, both ancient and modern.
We will surely find in these explained texts something to nourish, revitalize our spirituality, and we will discover, through them, the extent of the ocean of divine mercy.
