        Major polytheism (a-chîrk al-akbâr)

Major polytheism: it is the fact of devoting one's worship or part of one's worship to someone other than Allah. It is also the fact of denying a principle or an act of the legislation of Allah recognized as elementary, such as the prayer and the fasting of the month of Ramadan. Or again, it is the fact of denying something that Allah has forbidden among the religious prohibitions recognized by all, such as adultery, the consumption of alcohol and the like. Likewise, it is obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator by making lawful what Allah has made unlawful and by allowing an individual to be obeyed in what contradicts the religion of Allah (Exalted be -He). Also found among the major types of polytheism are the invocation of the dead and statues, imploring their help, swearing pious oaths to them, sacrificing beasts for them, and other similar acts. It involves the nullification of all deeds and Hell as an eternal residence.

As Allah (ST) said in: Surah 6 verse 88: "But if they had given partners to Allah, then all that they would have done would certainly have been in vain". Sura 9 Verse 17 “It is not for the idolaters to populate the mosques of Allah, since they testify against themselves of their disbelief. These are the ones whose works are in vain; and in the Fire they will abide forever.”

And whoever dies a polytheist will not be able to hope to see his sins forgiven and entry into Paradise will be forbidden to him, as Allah (ST) said in: Sura 4 Verse 48: "Verily Allah does not forgive that anyone gives Him 'associated. Apart from that, He forgives whom He wills”. Surah 5 Verse 72 “Whoever associates with Allah (other deities) Allah forbids him Paradise; and his refuge will be the Fire.

And for the unjust, no helpers! “Polytheism being the most serious sin that Allah has forbidden, it is important that everyone pays attention to it, this booklet summarizes major polytheism for you so that you do not fall into it.
