Advice to the Muslim doctor including religious standards to be respected in his medical practice, by Sheikh Mohamed Ali Ferkous, Bilingual (French-Arabic)

The science of medicine, with its different specialties, is a necessity to guarantee the good state of bodily health. It is therefore essential to ensure the essentials of life here below. Because, He Who created the disease also created the remedy, and well indicated to make use of it.

In addition, the doctor must take care to master his profession and know the regulations of medicine and the causes of illnesses, so as not to take any responsibility in practicing his work, otherwise he risks harming the body, and he must, by therefore, make compensation

From this context, one can establish a set of standards prescribed by the Sharia, some of which are inherent in the personality of the Muslim doctor to be used assiduous in his professional life; and others relating to his medical practice.

علم الطبِّ بمختلف تخصّصاته لحفظ صحة الأبدان، فلا يستغنى عنه في قوام أمور الدنيا؛ لأنَّ الذي أنزل الداءَ أنزل الدواء، وأرشد إلى استعماله.
والطبيب ينبغي أن يحرص على إتقان مهنته ومعرفة قواعد الطبِّ، وعلل ال أمراض على وجهٍ تنتفي به مسئوليّته عند ممارسة عمله وإلاَّ حصل الفساد على الأبدان، وترتَّب عليه الضمان،
أن يكون شكورًا لله لما أوصله إليه من درجة علمية في ميدانه، وفي فهم علل الطب وقواعده بناءً على ما اكتسبه من خلال الممار سة الفعلية لمهنته الطبية وما تدفّق عنها من خبرة ومهارة، وظهرت قوّته في دقّة عمله، وإتقان صنعته، فكلّ ذلك يرجع إلى فضل الله سبحانه عليه، ومِن شُكْرِ النعمةِ أن يقابل الطبيبُ الم سلمُ ما أمدَّه اللهُ تعالى مِن نِعَمٍ بالشكر والعرفان، وأن يكون شكر ه ظاهرًا في دينه وسلوكه وأخلاقه، ومتجسِّدًا في هيئته ومختلف مظاهره اقتداءً بالسلف الصالح -رحمهم الله- الذين ما نبغوا في علومهم ولا فاقو ا غيرهم إلاَّ بالالتزام الكامل بمبادئ الإسلام وآدابه وشرائعه، فذلك من تمام الشكر وكمال التوحيد.

ومن مضمون هذا معنى يمكن تحديدُ جملةٍ مِنَ الضوابط الطبيب المسلم ليلتزم بها في حياته المهنية، وأخ رى متعلّقة بعيادته الطبية.
