The burst of light after wandering, by Gilbert Roque, Oryms editions

Roque shares here with us a part of his life; his questions of course about the existence of God (and which one by the way?), all these reflections that assailed him, the incomprehension of those around him, of those close to him, before these salutary encounters which, in a certain way , were part of a divine project. Gilbert's path was all mapped out, that's for sure. Was it necessary for him to understand the meaning of the clues that were shelled throughout his life course. Our author was able, like little Thumb, to follow these little pebbles that led him to God. Gilbert made the right encounters at the right time. He met Muslims who, by their way of being and their behavior, gave off a serenity after which he was running. He met men and women of modest means for whom Islam was their life and not just a religion stricto sensu. He somehow met the worthy heirs of the Prophet (saws) who understood that to call to Islam was above all to be a living example and that it could not be confined to empty words which, by nature, bring our own contradictions to light when we are unable to put them into practice.

Gilbert Roque invites us on an intimate journey who, like an echo of his own journey and in response to divine grace, chose to call himself Abd al Rahmane, the servant of the All-Merciful.
