It is necessary to study the causes and the factors at the base of takfir -ex-communication- in order to be able to deal with this phenomenon with clairvoyance.

Men in power and people who believe they are able to deal with this phenomenon through repression, brutality, arrests and any other form of violence, are certainly mistaken. People who are drawn to takfir seek reform. Even if they are wrong about the way to act and they have gone astray, they remain particularly concerned with the moral direction of their Ummah. We must take into consideration their benevolent motivations and not imagine them as "fierce beasts" armed with claws and fangs wanting to attack and destroy society to turn it into a desert.

Without the support of in-depth knowledge of Sharia and the prescriptions of Allah, sincerity alone will not suffice. Otherwise, the person will reproduce what happened to the Kharijites who were blamed, despite their zeal in worship and asceticism. Asan al-Bari said: “He who acts without knowledge is like one who follows a directionless path. He who acts without knowledge alters more than he mends. Seek science that does not harm worship. Seek worship that does not harm knowledge. Peoples have sought worship and abandoned science to the point of fighting the Ummah of Mohammad (PSL). If they had sought knowledge, they would not have acted as they did”.
