Many are those who, even today, underestimate or even ignore the spiritual dimension in the writings of Hanbali traditionists, jurisconsults and theologians such as Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Ibn Taymiya, and Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyya, the latter being one of the most prolific Hanbali authors in the spiritual field. In the absence of being able to undertake a complete presentation of the spirituality which animated these illustrious imams, we propose to translate into French some of their teachings. One will therefore find, in the pages of this book, words which lead to piety and virtue, and which are capable of nourishing the faith and reflection of believers today.
