Ibn al-Qayyim Al-Jawzîyya , Shams al-Dîn abu Bakr
Hanbalite theologian and jurisconsult, was born in Damascus in 691/1292 . He was ibn Taymiyya's most prominent disciple. His doctrinal and literary work is considerable, we owe him, in particular, the Madârij al-Sâlikîn (The path of the itinerant ed . universal ) which can be considered as the masterpiece of mystical literature in Hanbalism. Died in Damascus in 751/1350 .
