How do I assess my practice and understanding of Islam?

Man, by his nature, seeks happiness, and the intelligent is the one who gives himself the means to achieve it. Religion, which is the set of rules and laws that God proposes to Man to manage his relationships with God, with himself and with others, is, according to Imam al-Ghazali, the royal road to achieve to this bliss.
But that requires useful science and good acting. Both call for discernment, because ignorance and nonchalance are certainly counterproductive. Such a quest also requires an almost permanent evaluation ( mizân ) of progress towards God, towards this bliss.
