Of course, gratitude to parents is one of the greatest obligations of religion. It is an obligation for every Muslim and scholars are unanimous that benevolence and gratitude to parents is among the greatest obligations of religion, of the most virtuous worship. Gratitude to parents has a high place and a great virtue.

Beneficence and gratitude towards parents are the companions of the monotheism of the Lord of the universe, and this is sufficient as a virtue, since Allah, exalted be He, has bound the right of parents to His right and His monotheism, exalted be it. He says, exalted be He (meaning of the verse): “We have commanded a man [beneficence towards] his father and mother; his mother carried him with difficulty after difficulty: his weaning took place at the age of two. “Be grateful to Me and to your parents. To Me is the destination. [Luqman, 14].

Allah, Exalted be He, therefore commanded the children to be beneficent towards their parents, clarified the virtue of the parents, the greatness of their rights and He clarified the previous favor they have over their child.
