Allah does not need us, nor our worship and our prayers, but we need Him immensely; we need His goodness, His mercy, His forgiveness and His satisfaction. It is by His goodness that He has allowed us to stand before Him at prayer time five times a day, and more if we desire; He opens His door to us at any time. At the time of prayer, we glorify him and we entrust ourselves to him using his own words.

The author

Moustafa MACHHOUR was born on September 15, 1921. Graduated from Cairo University in 1942.

He met Imam Hassan al-Banna in 1936, when he joined the Muslim Brotherhood.

He was elected "Mourchid" Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood after the death of Mohamed Hamed Abou Nasr in 1996.

Known for his wisdom and depth of thought, he was the author of dozens of books that are known for both their depth and their simplicity.

He died on November 14, 2002 at the age of 83.
