The Secrets of Prayer in Islam - a book by Al-Gasâlî (Iqra)

Prayer is the backbone of religion, the emblem of certainty and the fine flower of pious works. There are many books of fiqh (Muslim law) which have dealt in detail with its modalities and status, which constitutes its external and apparent aspect.

Imam Al-Ghazali proposes in this book to make the faithful discover the latent secrets of prayer in terms of the meaning of meditation, sincerity and good intention. In short, he evokes in his book what is not usually dealt with in fiqh manuals. Thus this book constitutes a complement which aims at perfecting the information on the internal as external aspect of this act of adoration considered as the adornment of the works of devotion.
