SUMMARY
This research work, published in two volumes, is interested in a fundamental question as to its philosophical and historical content: what must be done in order to allow the subjects of predominantly Muslim societies to realize themselves in History? How will the individual, living in this geographical-cultural area, be able to fully participate again in human civilization? In other words, the essential question around which our study revolves, having as its starting point the reformism conceived by Mohamed 'Abdou, is to know: what are the obstacles preventing the populations of Arab-Muslim societies from accomplishing their own modernization of thought, state and society? And what is the role of the attempt at socio-political reform and the epistemic transition, initiated by Mohamed 'Abdou, in the inability to overcome this situation of decadence?

AUTHOR
Ramzi Saoudi holds a doctorate in political science from Science PO Lyon. Epistemologist and socio-political specialist specializing in reformism in the Arab-Muslim area.
More generally, he intervenes as a teacher-researcher in fields relating to the sociology and political anthropology of the Maghreb, Islamism and nationalism, as well as the paradigmatic refoundation of knowledge around the religious fact. He is particularly interested in the interactions of Islam and the Muslim presence in the secularized contexts of the Euro-Mediterranean area.
