This new dictionary is intended as a reference work for any bilingual French-speaking reader, whether student, translator, teacher, researcher or simply curious about everything that makes the link between the French language and the Arabic language.

The lexicon that makes up the nomenclature (ie all the words and expressions listed in the two languages) is general and contemporary. It comes from modern documents with which the French-speaking reader is confronted daily. We find there the most frequent words of the French language, those that we currently encounter in school textbooks, the mass media and contemporary literary works. Also this dictionary reflects the socio-cultural reality of the modern world, as it reflects the scientific concerns of bilingual readers.

This dictionary establishes bridges between what the user knows (the words of the French language) and what he does not know or knows little (the equivalent or equivalents in the Arabic language) . The translations (or equivalents) that it offers of the lexical entry tend to be exhaustive and precise, that is to say that they reflect as faithfully as possible the meaning, the reality and/or the notion that this entry designates in French.
