The author of Bulugh Al-Maram
Imam Ibn Hajar Al-'Asqalânî , of the Shâfi'ite rite, al-Hâfidh , was born in Egypt on the twelfth day of the month of Sha'bân , in 773 of the Hegira. He distinguished himself very early on by a remarkable capacity for memorization and quickly became a master of the various disciplines taught in his time, and more particularly of the sciences dedicated to the Sunna, to which he devoted from the year 796 multiple sessions. of transmission ( samâ ') from Sheikh to pupil, so that he collected such a large sum of traditional materials from the mouths of luminaries that it made him a Muhaddith without equal in his day.

" Bulûgh al-Marâm min Adillat al-Ahkâm " ( Getting to the essentials concerning the proofs of the Law) is presented in the form of a concise writing which brings together the following characteristics: First of all, it gathers the hadîth which serve as the legal arguments of Muslim law and the basis of Islamic morality. Then, he mentions the different versions of the text of the hadîth , or specifies their provenance in the compilations of traditions. Finally, he classifies the hadîth according to their degree of force, into Sahîh , hasan or da'îf .

We owe Ithâf al-Kirâm to Safiyy ar-Rahmân al-Mubârafûrî (1941-2006) who is one of the most eminent scholars of hadith in India. He is the author of several books including: al-Misbâh al-Munîr fî tahdhîb tafsîr Ibn Kathîr , Minnat al-Mun'im fî sharh Sahîh Muslim , and ar-Rahîq al-Makhtûm .
In his commentary on Bulûgh al-Marâm , Safiyy ar-Rahmân al-Mubârafûrî relied on both ancient and modern works. He also brought his personal touch by going, when necessary, against the exegesis given by the scholars of yesteryear or today. He also took care to simplify and make accessible the meaning of the hadith retained by Imam Ibn Hajar. He finally added biographical notes where he provided information on the Companions and the Followers who transmitted the hadîth as well as on other men or women mentioned in the various hadîth .
