If Islam is a religion, in the sense that it has its dogma and its rites, it is also, by way of consequence, a civilization, which has inscribed itself over time as one of the most important in the world. 'History. With now more than 14 centuries of existence and a historical domain having, at its height, made connect the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, Islam naturally generated an incalculable number of personalities. Whether they were caliphs, emirs and sultans, but also scholars in religious or secular sciences, resistance fighters or conquerors, or even companions of the last of the divine Prophets, there are thousands of them to have engraved their name in the marble.

Starting from the Prophet Muhammad (sws) who completed his prophetic mission in the 7th century of the Christian era, 101 male personalities were thus selected by us in order to make a picture of Islamic civilization as representative as possible. More, or less, faithful to the teachings born from the Koranic Revelation, the characters selected then all have in common the fact of having more or less marked their contemporaries, and more widely history. A political, but also cultural, scholarly and spiritual history which, we hope, will be as pleasant to read as it will have been fascinating for us to write.
