Unanimously respected, this great figure of European Islam possessed an encyclopaedic knowledge associated with a simple, deep and unshakable faith. He never missed an opportunity to explain to his European interlocutors the limpid spirituality of Islam, demonstrating that this religion represents, as a civilization, a summit of the intellectual and moral achievement of humanity. Author of numerous books, each as relevant as the other, Murad Wilfried Hofmann will die in the first days of January 2020, at the age of 88.
“There is no doubt in my mind, Muhammad Asad tells us, that the newspaper presented in these pages will contribute a great deal to a better understanding of Islam in the West”.
