The abandonment of the clean will, of Ibn ' Atâ ' Allah Al ' Iskandarî , original title in Arabic: التنوير في إسقاط التدبير (At-Tanouîr fi iskât t-tadbîr ), translated from Arabic by C Haykh Abd Allah P

Letting go of one's own will is at the heart of any inner search. It aims to make people aware that despite appearances, it is up to God to act. This surrender makes it possible to kill the ego and to open the eye of the heart of the disciple who thus no longer sees the world as a result of external phenomena but as a divine manifestation opening onto an ocean of truths and lights and onto a inexhaustible source of lessons. Hence Iskandarî 's insistence on the satisfaction that everyone who happens to him must derive from him, whatever his fate, without however taking pleasure either in the macerations of an unhealthy asceticism.

About the author: Al Iskandari

Al Iskandarî , spiritual master and famous jurist of the 13th century, showed throughout his life a concern for harmony between the inner Sufi way and the exoteric Law. His entire teaching is based on the Koran and the hadiths . It thus constitutes a reference likely to accompany each believer throughout his life. His writings constitute the first major doctrinal exposition of the Shadilite brotherhood of which he was the third Master .
