The providential downpour of salutary words according to Ibn Qaym Al-Jawziya:

The subject of this work is the remembrance of Allah (dhikr). Indeed, Allah the Most High has mentioned, on many occasions, in the Koran, those who remember him, invoke him and implore him. The Prophet (SWS) himself evoked his Lord at every moment and in every situation both by tongue and by heart. The place of reminder in the life of the believer and like water for fish. What becomes of the latter outside of his element? He withers and eventually dies. Likewise, he who remembers his Lord is alive while he who does not remember is dead.

This book consists of eight chapters, which are as follows:

  • Chapter 1: The servant can obtain rectitude on the preceding point only by the integrity of his heart and the uprightness of his members.
  • Chapter 2: Among the signs of respect for prohibitions, there is the aspiration to move away from them, to be wary of them, and to move away from all that incites.
  • Chapter 3: What makes it possible to strengthen the presence of the heart of the servant and to concern himself only with his Lord (haza wajal) during his prayer lies in the fact of restraining and controlling his desires and passions.
  • Chapter 4: Continuation of the explanation of the hadith.
  • Chapter 5: Continuation of the explanation of the hadith.
  • Chapter 6: Continuation of the explanation of the hadith.
  • Chapter 7: In the reminder there are more than 100 benefits.
  • Chapter 8: The prescribed invocations which the servant must not neglect.
