The present essay of translation and commentary of the verses of the Holy Koran which he offers us Cheikh Boureima Abdou Daouda and which he qualifies as a humble contribution to the diffusion of Islam is a precious tool particularly for the French-speaking Islamic Ouma for whom the non- mastery of Arabic constituted a barrier for the knowledge of the word of God contained in the Holy Book.

Praise be to Allah Lord of the worlds "... who sent to illiterate people a Messenger of theirs who recites His verses to them, purifies them and teaches them the Book and Wisdom... ". Sura 62 ( Friday ) : verse 2.

This verse emphasizes the three important functions, namely the Tilawah ( recitation ) of the Qur'an , the Tazkiyah (purification/reformation) of man and the Ta'lim (teaching) of the meaning of the Qur'an ; important functions that the Prophet Muhammad was to fulfill #| who, aware of his role as a model, has
follow , said: "The best among you is he who has learned the Qur'an and taught it [to others] ".

But learning the Qur'an requires constant revision; and its teaching presupposes a good understanding of the meaning of its verses. Although there have been many translations of the Qur'an in French for a very long time, this book is the first of its kind to offer all the advantages allowing access to this recommendation of the Prophet:

- in pocket format, you can carry it anywhere on your person, read it and consult it in any situation (during debates, while travelling , etc. ) ;

- the Arabic text appears next to the translation, which allows the reader who does not understand the Arabic language to see the meaning of what he is reading in Arabic ;

- there are whole books dealing with the worship rites of certain pillars of Islam : the fast of the month of Ramadan and the Hajj in particular.
