Malcolm X remains one of the most famous black American activists. Malcolm X (1925-1965), born Malcolm Little, a black American leader and activist devoted himself to building the Black Muslims movement, which he abandoned in 1964 to create the Organization of Afro-American Unity, a non-religious organization intended to internationalize the struggle of blacks. He was assassinated on February 21, 1965 in New York.
